Persona 3 combines elements of standard role-playing games and dating sims. The game takes place over the course of a Japanese school year. Each day goes by, broken up into several periods such as "Morning," "Afternoon" and "Evening," with the protagonist going to school and then participating in selected activities during free time.

’s repetitive Mementos stages rather than its complex palaces, but seeing its hallways rendered from a new perspective — more of an over-the shoulder 3D rather than the original god’s-eye view — made the contrast rather stark. There just isn’t much going on in Tartarus. It’s a twisted version of a high school with a Persona 3 Reload Gameplay few enemy shadows lurking.
There are hundreds of different Shadows within Tartarus, all holding their own damage resistances and disadvantages. The protagonist can uniquely equip multiple personas, so a diverse move set is key.
